Children's Thanksgiving Craft: Turkey Napkin Rings

The Thanksgiving holiday is not only for adults but also for kids. Your kids are also excited for the holiday activities and feast. It?s not only the markdown sales and shopping sprees that make it exciting but the Thanksgiving dinner for the whole family and friends.

To add more excitement for your kids, provide some kids stuffs on your table setting. Try these turkey napkin rings from the fingerprints project for your Thanksgiving dinner table setting. These will surely provide a colorful theme and some kind of attraction for kids.

Materials Needed

• Card stock
• Acrylic paints in fall colors plus black and white
• Small paintbrush
• Toothpick
• Scissors
• Glue stick
• White paint pen
• Pattern

Directions

1. Print out the pattern. You can download the pattern at http://craftsbyamanda.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/fingerprint-turkey-pattern.pdf. Use this to cut out your templates from card stock.
2. Allow your kids to participate in the creation by dipping their fingers in acrylic paint and press them onto the feather areas on the template. It is best to have different colors. Instruct them to use their thumb or forefinger to make the body and head with brown paint. Then, let it dry for a few minutes.
3. Add white eyes by using the tip of the brush handle. Then, dip in orange paint the toothpick to add the beaks and in red paint to add the gobblers, black to paint the eyes. Again, let it dry.
4. Write down your guests? names on the turkey?s body using a white paint pen.
5. Trim the ends of the napkin ring depending on the size of your napkins.
6. Twirl the card stock into a ring and use a glue stick to fasten.

And you?re done! All you have to do is to roll the table napkin and insert your personalized turkey napkin rings from the fingerprints. Your kids will definitely love this craft!
