Gina Carano may do more acting after 'Haywire' (AP)

BERLIN ? Mixed martial arts star Gina Carano says she may be back for more acting after taking the lead in Steven Soderbergh's "Haywire" as a hard-kicking special operations agent.

The 29-year-old Carano's Agent Mallory Kane squares off against a cast including Antonio Banderas, Ewan McGregor and Michael Fassbender in the movie, which showed out of competition at the Berlin International Film Festival on Wednesday.

"This was an incredible experience, and I think I can do a lot more, and now I understand how it goes a little bit," Carano told reporters.

"I'd be lying if I said I never wanted to this again," she said. "It was a dream, I can't support myself in fight for ever and I know that, so maybe I can get something else going here."

"It's a completely different life ? I found it really interesting the adrenaline that you get filming," Carano said. "It's a more prolonged adrenaline than, say, fighting, which is a lot more harsh. You have to get it right on the first take in fighting."

In the film, Carano's Mallory works for a private contractor that performs secret missions for the U.S. government.

Her latest requires her and her team to rescue a Chinese journalist who'd been kidnapped and was being held captive in Barcelona ? a mission that appears to go off as planned, but afterward she finds she has been set up.

Carano performed all her own stunts in the movie, but said that "I didn't knock anybody out ... really nobody got hurt."

And how did Fassbender, who previously starred in "300" and "Centurion," find the experience?

"I found out that I got my ass kicked better than I kick ass," he said.
