Last fall I picked up a collection of sea corals and other animals from a local thrift store. It amazes me immensely, and I keep on experimenting with the textures. This ring is made with an impression of a coral, but it so resembles an octopus! When I pulled it out of the kiln, my first association was of a scene from 1000 Leagues Under the Ocean by Jules Verne. The one where a huge octopus wraps itself around a diver. A book that I read in elementary school! So I envelop myself in memory and decide to read it with my son.
If you are eco conscious you can feel good about wearing this ring, it is made from recycled silver from old films and computer motherboards. Truly eco friendly!
This design is about 3/8? or 5 mm wide. Comes in a nice little hand made pouch, that I sew myself out of recycled fabric. Gift-wrapping is also made out of recycled handmade materials. No need to feel guilty about any of it. Each ring will be unique: based on this design, and textured with the same pattern, but sculpted anew just for you.
If you are interested in a set, or a men's ring, please send me a message. They can be available.
