(AP) ? Tens of thousands of people waving Egyptian flags and hoisting large pictures of the president are demonstrating across Egypt Saturday in support of him and Islamic law.

The rally, organized by the Muslim Brotherhood, is seen as a test of strength for Islamists seeking to counteract large opposition protests held this past week. The Islamists argue that the liberals, who are still laboring to create a cohesive opposition nearly two years after the uprising that ousted longtime leader Hosni Mubarak, do not represent the vast majority of Egyptians.

The Brotherhood and harder-line Islamists won nearly 75 percent of the seats in last winter's parliamentary election. But liberals highlight the fact that President Mohammed Morsi, a member of the Brotherhood's political party, won only 25 percent of votes in the first round of presidential elections. He went on to win the runoff by just over 50 percent, after a divisive race against a former regime figure.

Hundreds of thousands of people, mostly liberal and secular forces, took to the streets twice this week opposing Morsi's decrees to grant himself sweeping powers. On Friday, up to 200,000 people packed the streets of Cairo alone, vowing to bring down a draft constitution approved by allies of Morsi, and demanding he repeal the decrees that neutralized the judiciary.

Morsi says he acted to prevent courts led by former regime holdovers from delaying a transition to democracy and dissolving the assembly that wrote the draft constitution.

"The people support the president's decision!" chanted crowds outside Cairo University, where more than 10,000 had gathered by midday. They held posters that read "Yes to stability" and "Yes to Islamic law".

The draft was passed by an Islamist-led assembly early Friday and is expected to be presented to the president Saturday. He will then decide on a date for a nationwide referendum, possibly in mid-December.

Egypt's Constitutional Court rules on Sunday whether to dissolve the assembly. Liberal, secular and Christian members had already quit the body in protest of what they call the Islamists' hijacking of the process.

Near Cairo University, dozens of Brotherhood buses stood parked after transporting people from outside the capital to the rally. Thousands others arrived on foot, chanting in support of Morsi as they marched. Among supporters of the rally, which also calls for Islamic law, are the Gamaa Islamaiyya ? a fundamentalist group that fought an insurrection against the government in the 1990s ? and the Salafi Nour Party, seen as more conservative than the Brotherhood.

The Brotherhood had originally said it would hold Saturday's rally in Tahrir Square, where the opposition has erected dozens of tents since Morsi issued his decrees last week, but changed their location to avoid confrontation. The group said it cancelled its rally in the southern city of Luxor after clashes between rival camps broke out there Friday.

Clashes sparked by the two-week old crisis have left two dead and hundreds injured.

HBT: Royals' Powerball connection only coincidence

UPDATE: Darn it, too good to be true. Sam Mellinger has tweeted the winning ticket and it appears as though the numbers were a ?quick pick,? meaning they were automatically generated (note the ?QP? after the number). ?Oh well. I guess it always was strange to think that a fan liked Mark Gubicza more than Brett Saberhagen.

10:30 AM: Not gonna lie. I bought a lottery ticket before that $580 million drawing the other day. This despite the fact that I am fully aware of the folly of doing so and the odds against winning. My reasoning is, at least when the jackpots get huge, that a few minutes of lottery fantasies are worth a buck or two. I?m not planning my life around winning a lottery and I don?t buy tickets that often, but it can be fun.

My problem, though, is that I don?t go all-in. I am aware of the randomness of it all, so I don?t pick my own numbers, I don?t believe any certain numbers have magic of?significance?to them and I don?t believe that any amount of?superstition will help me win. ?In light of this, however, I probably should re-think that approach:

One of the two?Power Ball winners is from Dearborn, Missouri, about 30 minutes North of the Kansas City Metro area. The winning numbers? 5 (George Brett),?16 (Bo Jackson),?22 (Dennis Leonard), 23 (Mark Gubicza), 29 (Dan Quisenberry), and the power ball of 6 (Willie Wilson).

After taxes and discounting for present value the winner likely does not have enough money to buy the Royals himself. But I bet he?ll find a way to spend his millions more effectively than David Glass spends his.

U.S. judge refuses to order anti-Muslim film off YouTube

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - An actress who said she was duped into appearing in an anti-Islam film that stoked violent protests against the United States across the Muslim world lost on Friday her second legal bid to force the video off YouTube.

Denying a request by actress Cindy Lee Garcia for a court order requiring the popular online video site to remove the crudely made 13-minute clip, a federal judge found she was unlikely to prevail on her claims of copyright infringement.

U.S. District Judge Michael Fitzgerald of Santa Clara, California, also canceled a December 3 hearing he had previously set for oral arguments over Garcia's request.

Garcia's lawyer, Cris Armenta, told Reuters she planned to appeal the decision.

The lawsuit, filed in September, names YouTube and its parent company Google Inc as defendants, along with the film's producer.

A previous motion by Garcia for a temporary restraining order against YouTube's continued posting of the video was rejected by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge.

Garcia's case was the first known civil litigation stemming from the video, billed as a film trailer, which depicts the Prophet Mohammad as a fool and a sexual deviant. The clip sparked a torrent of anti-American unrest in Egypt, Libya and dozens of other Muslim countries.

The outbreak of violence coincided with an attack on U.S. diplomatic facilities in Benghazi in September that killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya.

For many Muslims, any depiction of the prophet is considered blasphemous.

Google has refused to remove the film from YouTube, despite pressure from the White House and others to take it down, though the company has blocked the trailer in Egypt, Libya and other Muslim countries.

COPYRIGHT CLAIM

Garcia has accused the purported filmmaker of fraud, libel and unfair business practices.

But her federal lawsuit also asserts a copyright claim to her performance in the video, titled "The Innocence of Muslims," and accuses Google of infringing on that copyright by distributing the video without her approval via YouTube.

But in a three-page ruling, the judge questioned the validity of such a claim. He held that even if she could prove a legitimate copyright interest in her film performance, she effectively relinquished her rights to producers of the film.

Fitzgerald also ruled that Garcia failed to show that she would suffer irreparable harm without an injunction.

Garcia's lawsuit identifies Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, an Egyptian-born Coptic Christian living in the Los Angeles area, as the film's producer. His legal name has since been established to be Mark Basseley Youssef and he served time in federal prison for bank fraud.

According to the lawsuit, Youssef operated under the assumed name of Sam Bacile when he misled Garcia and other performers into appearing in an anti-Muslim film they believed was to be an adventure drama called "Desert Warrior." She claims to have since received death threats.

Despite Friday's ruling against her, "we hope that worldwide the message has been heard that Ms. Garcia was not complicit and did not voluntarily participate in this heinous piece of hate speech," her lawyer said in a statement.

Youssef was sent back to jail for a year on November 7 for probation violations stemming from his role in making the video, including his use of an alias in connection with the film.

Rupert Murdoch's papers, UK media condemned in phone-hacking ...

Senior judge Brian Leveson remarks on the findings of his yearlong inquiry into the phone-hacking scandal that shook up British media.

By Carol Grisanti, Keir Simmons and Ian Johnston, NBC News

Updated at 10:35 a.m. ET: LONDON ? Rupert Murdoch?s newspapers and other British media were reckless in the pursuit of sensational stories "almost irrespective of the harm" caused, according to a major report on Britain's?phone-hacking scandal.

The findings of the year-long Leveson Inquiry criticized a ?failure of systems of management and compliance? at Murdoch?s News of the World (NoTW) tabloid, which was closed down as the full extent of their illegal actions became clear.

Lord Justice Leveson said if Murdoch and his son James did not know about the extent of phone-hacking at the paper, then there had been a "determined cover-up" by unidentified staff.

And if they had known then the Murdochs should have done something about it, he said. However, the judge added there was no evidence from which he could "safely infer" that Rupert Murdoch was aware of a wider problem.

The report is being watched by American lawmakers amid concerns that U.S. laws may have been broken.

Leveson did not recommend state regulation of the media ? or censorship in the eyes of some ? as some victims of press intrusion had demanded, but did propose a new self-regulatory body enshrined in law.

The inquiry was set up after it emerged that people working for the News of the World had hacked into messages on a phone belonging to?Milly Dowler, 13, while she was a missing person in 2002. She had been abducted and was murdered.

A string of other examples of phone-hacking and other examples of press intrusion then emerged.

In its report on Britain's phone-hacking scandal, the Leveson Inquiry described a failure of management systems at newspapers owned by Rupert Murdoch and others.

Read the full Leveson Inquiry report

Leveson said it was not just Murdoch?s newspapers that were at fault, adding that?"outrageous" behavior by the press had "wreaked havoc with the lives of innocent people."

?There has been a recklessness in prioritizing sensational stories almost irrespective of the harm that the stories may cause and the rights of those who would be affected (perhaps in a way that can never be remedied),? his report said.

?Too many stories in too many newspapers are the subject of complaints from too many people,? it added.

Rupert Murdoch not 'a fit person' to firm, UK lawmakers say?

But Leveson was scathing about the Murdoch empire and the News of the World in particular.?He said there was "a general lack of respect for individual privacy and dignity? at the paper.

And the judge said there had been a ?serious failure of governance? at the News of the World, News Corporation and its U.K. arm News International in dealing with the phone-hacking allegations.

?There was a failure on the part of the management at the NoTW to take appropriate steps to investigate whether there was evidence of wrongdoing,? he said.

Author J.K. Rowling and actress Sienna Miller testified at the Leveson inquiry, addressing the emotional pain they experience after having their privacy invaded by tabloid reporters. NBC's Michelle Kosinski reports.

'Determined cover-up'
Leveson said if Rupert Murdoch and his son James were kept in the dark then ?one or more parts of the management at the NoTW was engaged in a determined cover-up to keep relevant information about potential criminal activity within the organisation from senior management within NI.?

?? if James Murdoch had been the victim of a cover-up, or an attempt to minimise the gravity of the position, then the accountability and governance systems at NI would have to be considered to have broken down in an extremely serious respect,? he added.

Leveson said there was ?no evidence? from which he could ?safely infer that Rupert Murdoch was aware of a wider problem.?

But Leveson noted Rupert Murdoch did not appear to have followed up -- or arranged for his son James to follow up -- on the instructions Murdoch said he gave to Colin Myler, editor of the News of the World from 2007 to 2011, to ?find out what the hell was going on.?

Actor Hugh Grant took a starring role on Monday in a London courtroom, where he testified at a public hearing about alleged phone hacking by British tabloids. NBC's Stephanie Gosk reports.

?If News Corporation management, and in particular Rupert Murdoch, were aware of the allegations, it is obvious that action should have been taken to investigate them,? Leveson said.

The report noted evidence given to the inquiry that News International had been ?obstructive? during an early police investigation into phone-hacking.

?The approach taken by NI is far from what might be expected of a well-run corporation ? An organisational culture that is founded on integrity and honesty would require not only full co-operation with law enforcement, but also a determination to expose behaviour that failed to comply with the law,? the report said.

Leveson said that what was needed was a ?genuinely independent and effective system of self-regulation.?

The current Press Complaints Commission includes members of the media industry, but Leveson said his proposed new body should have no ?serving editors or members of the House of Commons or government.? He also said that the new body should?be recognized in law.

He said he was ?struck by the evidence of journalists who felt they might be put under pressure to do things that were unethical or against the [press standards] code.?

To address this, he said there should be a new whistleblowing hotline and the new board should ?encourage? media firms to include a ?conscience clause? in their employment contracts.

U.S. senator: 'Deplorable conduct'
Senator Jay Rockefeller, chairman of the Senate commerce committee, earlier signaled he would be paying close attention to the findings of the report.

In an emailed statement sent to NBC News before it was released, he called on investigators in the U.K. to hold media companies accountable for their ?deplorable conduct.?

The parents of murdered school girl Milly Dowler told the Leveson Inquiry how her phone had been hacked into when she went missing, giving them false hope that she may still be alive. ITV's Damon Green reports.

Read more on this story from Britain's ITV News

Rockefeller said that was "deeply concerned" that media companies "may have violated U.S. laws and injured U.S. citizens."

He said he hoped Leveson?s report and other investigations would hold the media organizations involved ?accountable for their deplorable conduct.?

?While I understand that the main goal of this report is to make policy recommendations, the core of the inquiry remains the illegal and unethical practices of newspapers owned by the News Corporation,? Rockefeller said.

Britain's former Prime Minister Tony Blair admitted he was very close to News International as Prime Minister - but he told the Leveson Inquiry it was a working relationship, not a close one. Testimony was briefly interrupted by a protestor who accused Blair of being a "war criminal." ITN's Tom Bradby reports.?

Former top aide to UK PM David Cameron charged in perjury case

Meanwhile, former News of the World editor Andy Coulson, who was later hired as U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron's chief media adviser, and Rebekah Brooks, the former CEO of News International, appeared in court Thursday to face charges related to allegations of corrupt payments made to public officials, ITV News reported. They were later released on bail.

The Associated Press, Reuters and ITV News contributed to this report. ITV News is NBC News' U.K. partner.

Online Information about Labiaplasty Procedures Lacking | Plastic ...

Are websites providing enough information about labiaplasty procedures?

Researchers at the UCL Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Institute of Women?s Health, University College Hospital in London, England recently conducted a survey to assess what kind of information is available online for women who are considering genital cosmetic surgery (such as labiaplasty). What they found?that many of the websites out there, including plastic surgeons? websites, are sorely lacking in accurate information about what these kinds of procedures truly entail?is very concerning.

I?m a firm believer in the idea that the best kind of patient is a well-informed patient. Doctors of all specialties, including plastic surgeons, have a responsibility to educate their patients and protect their interests. That?s why Dr. Chiu-Collins and I do our best to provide accurate information here on our blog and on the San Francisco Plastic Surgery & Laser Center?s website about the procedures we perform, and why we make ourselves available for free consultations at our office.

In my experience, most women who pursue labiaplasty do so because they experience pain or discomfort when wearing tight clothing (such as jeans or yoga pants) or when playing sports or engaging in activities such as bike riding or horseback riding.?For others, the desire for the procedure stems from a feeling of shame or embarrassment about the way their genitals look. Regardless of their reasons, I?m always careful to go over what a labiaplasty entails with each of my patients before they come in for surgery, and I also provide extensive information about the procedure (including a video of me performing an actual labiaplasty) on my website.

I share the UCL Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Institute of Women?s Health?s concerns about this issue; patients deserve to have all the information about medical procedures they?re considering for themselves. If you?re thinking of undergoing labiaplasty, be sure to do the research first?and if the plastic surgeon you?re thinking of going to for the procedure isn?t offering you adequate information, then you should consider going to someone who does!
